These magnificent gardens attract visitors from all over the
world. A wildlife hide also allows visitors to experience the
fauna as well as the exotic flora that Inverewe has to offer.
The garden has a majestic setting, built on a rocky promontory
into Loch Ewe. Its walled garden has plants from around the world
including Chinese rhododendrons, Tasmanian eucalypts and New
Zealand daisy bushes. The rest of the site is woodland
underpalnted with many unusual woodland plants such as Meconopsis
and Primula. Extensive views of Loch Ewe and out to sea,
restaurant and gift shop make this an attraction not to be missed.

At the Torridon Countryside Centre & Deer Museum you will find
information about routes to the high tops, and coastal paths, the
wildlife on the estate, part of which is in the Beinn Eighe
National Nature Reserve. Look out for red deer, Highland cattle,
and oystercatchers near the sea loch. Golden eagles sailing over
the mountaintops. You may even catch sight of a pine marten or
otter.
BEINNEIGHE NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE

Beinn Eighe was Britain’s first National Nature Reserve, and is
the natural home of the red deer, the golden eagle and the elusive
pine marten. Set amongst stunning mountain scenery and ancient
pinewood fragments overlooking Loch Maree. The Visitor centre
(Open Easter to October) with all trails suitable to all
abilities, parking and cycle rack. Further attractions include a
Picnic site, viewpoint, interpretative panels, a basic campsite,
woodland and mountain trails. A reserve leaflet, booklet and trail
guides are available.

Enjoy pony trekking with knowledgeable staff and qualified
instructors in the beautiful Gairloch Estate, at this fully
licensed centre. Ride well-mannered horses and ponies along
pathways, through forests and across streams. Activities include
lead reins and walkouts, accompanied if necessary, for the
inexperienced or young. Private and group lessons are available by
arrangement, in the all-weather arena. Kids Riding breaks are
ideal for children who want to spend a longer (1–3 days) with the
ponies.
